DESCRIPTION:
The first library for visually-impaired students was set up in Guwahati at the Blind High School on Wednesday. The library offers the braille versions of a variety of academic books and journals, self-help, general knowledge books, which students otherwise find hard to procure, as reported by The Tribune.
4 January is observed as World Braille Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of braille. The initiative was undertaken by Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF), the CSR initiative of Amway India, in partnership with the school and the library houses 200 books currently.
