Whirlpool Cyclists Travel to Ohio for United Way

BENTON HARBOR — Over the next two days, 15 bikers will ride 240 miles from Benton Harbor to Clyde, Ohio.

The intention is to raise money for the two United Way organizations prevalent in each city. While some of the bikers work in Ohio and others work in Benton Harbor, they all come from the same home appliance maker.

The bikers have different roles at Whirlpool Corp., either living in the Twin Cities or working at the Clyde plant. However, they are all into fitness and have a common sense of philanthropy.

Nick Fedor, a health coach at the Whirlpool plant in Clyde, is responsible for the cycling fundraiser.

It originally began when riders from Clyde planned to ride from Benton Harbor to Ohio to raise money for the United Way based in Sandusky County. Then employees in the Twin Cities decided to join the cause.
